Visiting
Yosemite National Park
It was decided to visit
some national park during our stay in San Francisco. So on the third day
we left the city and drove to Yosemite
National Park. It was about 2.5-3 hours drive. It was Monday and that's
why it wasn't very crowdy there. We tried our best to see, make pictures
and hike little bit the whole day. The park is so beautiful and quite big.
Yosemite valley is the heart of the park, then there are many other nice
places in the park. First we stopped near El Capitan, high mountain near
the entrance to Yosemite Valley. After we took shuttle in the valley and
visited some places there. We saw Yosemite Falls and then Mirror Lake.
It's situated between the mountains and has breath-taking view. The water
is so cold there but I still walked in it little bit...
After we stopped in
the Tunnel View (see the picture) and it's the best point to see the mountains.
Then we drove north and saw the famous Half Dome with several other mountains
around it. From the higher view point we saw Vernal and Nevada falls. Yosemite
valley and Half Dome looked cool from Glacier Point. At the end we visited
Mariposa Grove park with giant sequoias. They are so big and high, great
trees... The weather was so warm and sunny it was pleasant to walk around
and take pictures. The park has many attractions what allow to stay there
long time. People can do biking, water rafting, horse riding and hiking
of course. We definitely must return there and hike more. Have you been
in this park? We liked this park a lot, we put it on the second place after
Grand Canyon...
